Babies & Toddlers
During our Sunday services we have a family space in the church with comfortable sofas and toys, for children age 3 and above there are Sunday School groups most weeks during school term time. Please check the Church Calendar for service times, at times when there are services at 9.15am and 11am Sunday School will be held during the second service unless we have an All Together service.
In the week we run two Bethany Babes groups for babies, toddlers and their parents or carers. These reopened in September 2021 with Covid safe measures in place which are reviewed in line with any changes to Government guidelines. For the safety of all we ask that adults wear face masks to our sessions.
What happens at Bethany Babes?
At each group a range of activities are provided for children from birth to school-age. We have a baby area with toys and plenty of space for floor play, the older children have lots of choice with the train set, sit and rides, play kitchens, and puzzles and books and a selection of other toys.
Due to our Covid19 safety measures, we are currently able to offer hot drinks to adults but ask that you bring a travel mug with you, please bring your own drinks and snacks for your children.
In the final part of the session we move through to a separate room, free of toys, for a song time.
We aim to be an inclusive group, if your child has a disability or serious allergies please do contact us to discuss how we can work with you to make our group a safe space for you.
Where and when does Bethany Babes meet?
Our two separate groups: Tuesday 10.00–11.30am; Wednesday 10.00–11.30am. They are all held at St Mary of Bethany Church, Mount Hermon Road, during term time.
Who is in charge?
Bethany Babes is run by members of St Mary's together with Tina Thomas
our Young Families Minister at St Mary of Bethany who is employed especially to work with families and young children. Our team are always on hand to make you welcome and offer assistance when you need it.
What is expected of parents?
Bethany Babes is a social activity for parents as well as children. We ask that parents remain responsible for their children’s safety at all times.
How much does it cost?
To meet running costs and to maintain the quality of our equipment we currently ask for a £2.00 contribution per family for the session.
How do I enrol?
