10Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11)

What inspires you?

We are all inspired by past events and people in our lives. We also believe that God working through the Holy Spirit inspires us to serve others and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.

God’s transforming people

At St Mary of Bethany we have many examples of God’s transforming people in our parish:
of loving Jesus, serving and telling others, and being community. In 2019 examples include:

  • Raising £2678 for Tearfund Indonesia Appeal
  • £36,000 to Mission Partners through our Tithe
  • £95,500 to support the Guildford Diocese through the Parish Share
  • Hosted three elections at St Mary of Bethany supplying refreshments to all who visited the Church on these three days
  • Hosted a community day for the people of the parish
  • Over the last 5 years 4235 Kg of food has been donated to Woking Foodbank years
  • Childrens and Youth work that reaches 1,000 children and parents in schools, colleges and at regular church activities
  • Hosting two Friday night clubs for Children and Youth, the only such clubs in Woking on a Friday night
  • Our Bethany Babes club providing a place for parents to meet and interact with each other in a caring environment
  • The regular work of Cameo for older folk allowing a space meet and have social interaction

All this is made possible not only through the financial generosity of members of St Mary of Bethany but also the time and talents of many volunteers that make this all possible.

How can I get involved?

Through gifts of time, talent and financial support anyone can get involved in supporting out vision. Regular giving, we believe is and important step in our walk with God in deepening our relationship with him as well as our own faith and self-fulfilment.
