Mark has been our Vicar since 2017. He’s in charge of our staff team, our worship and our overall vision for the church.

Mark is an avid Doctor Who fan and would like to apologise to anyone who’s seen him out running along the Hoe Stream.

Ray has been a member of St Mary of Bethany Church since the 1960s. Following a career in vocational education & training he was ordained as a local minister based at St Mary of Bethany in 2006.

He is married to Marion & they both love getting together with their extended family, especially their grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

Ray has been delighted to see how St Mary of Bethany has developed over the years as a friendly, welcoming church caring for old and young alike.

Sarah has been a member of St Mary of Bethany for many years & loves being part of the church community.

She enjoys meeting up with friends, spending time with her grandson & travelling.

This is her third year as Churchwarden.

Jess joined the team in 2018 & alongside supporting the team’s ministries she keeps the church family in the loop with weekly emails, manages Safer Recruitment and assists with church social media / publicity.

Outside of work she’s into board gaming and baking!

Andrew joined the team in November 2023, working within the office to support the team in the Church Ministry as well as supporting the Office Manager.

He can often be found with a cup of coffee and a nice book.
